Stay Wild, Stay Smart: Join Our Free Bear Aware Clinic in Billings 🐻
If you spend any time outside in Montana—and let’s be honest, most of us do—then you already know: sharing space with wildlife is part of the deal. And when it comes to bears, a little knowledge goes a long way.
We’re teaming up with Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks to bring you practical, real-world guidance on how to stay safe and confident in bear country—whether you’re deep in the backcountry or right in your own backyard.
Why This Matters
Montana summers mean more time outside—camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, biking… all the good stuff. It also means increased bear activity.
This clinic isn’t about fear—it’s about awareness, preparedness, and respect for the wild places we love.
What You’ll Learn
You’ll learn how to recognize signs of bear activity, properly store food using bear-resistant methods, and keep a clean, low-risk campsite. We’ll also cover practical ways to secure garbage and other attractants, and why removing bird feeders matters (and when to do it). You’ll gain insight into how to avoid unintentionally attracting bears in the field.
Test Your Bear Spray Skills (No Pressure )
We’ll be running a hands-on bear spray demo where you can actually practice.
👉 Test your bear spraying skills using a fake bear and non-spicy bear spray—so you can build confidence without the panic.
Bring your own bear spray if you have it, or just jump in and learn.
More Than Just a Clinic
This is what we love most: community showing up for each other.
You’ll get free resources, expert advice straight from FWP, and real conversations with people who live and recreate here.
Plus 20% OFF Bear Safety product in store during and after the clinic.
And yes—the tills will be open, so you can shop while you’re here
