Topics covered will include: avalanche terrain recognition, the impact of weather on avalanche hazard, the development of mountain snowpack, backcountry decision-making skills, and the benefit of beacons, probes, and shovels in basic search and rescue procedures. Admission is free.

During the event, we will conduct a raffle with great prizes. All proceeds from the raffle will go directly to the Friends of the GNFAC.

The Friends of the GNFAC is a non-profit organization that accepts tax-deductible donations to support avalanche education and information. Contributions support the GNFAC in several ways, including funding equipment purchases and educational materials as well as contributing to operating costs involved in providing avalanche education.

Join us for an informal gathering to acquire important safety information and to support an invaluable winter safety resource. If you have questions, please contact The Base Camp at 406-443-5360.
